8.1 If the government of Nepal, the Ministry of Home Affairs deems it necessary to maintain the detention order of a person under detention for more than six months, the reason and basis and if the local authority has given any suggestion in that regard, the suggestion shall be made. And if there is any complaint before the Government of Nepal on behalf of the person under detention, the report containing the complaint should be submitted to the Advisory Committee. If an inquiry has been made or an explanation has been sought, the advisory committee will consider its answer or explanation and send an opinion to the Government of Nepal as to whether or not it is necessary to extend the period of detention. Or may ask for an explanation.
